The Department of Public Finance, the Accounting and Tax Applications Program of Çay Vocational School, and the Finance Club jointly organized a “Career Talk.”
Held in the Prof. Dr. Sabri Bektöre Conference Hall, the event was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş, Çay Vocational School Deputy Director Lecturer Turan Ulaş, academic staff members, and students.
“FEAS graduates have broad employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors”
Sworn-in Certified Public Accountant Dr. Rıdvan Önder provided information on the career fields and professions available to graduates, particularly those from finance and accounting-related departments. Emphasizing that FEAS graduates enjoy wide employment opportunities across the public and private sectors, Önder stated:
“Those who wish to pursue a career in the public sector can serve as inspectors, internal auditors, Court of Accounts auditors, or specialists. In the private sector, accounting, finance, and banking stand out as key fields. For those considering a career in banking, inspection roles can be challenging at times, but they are highly rewarding both financially and socially.”
“Setting a course is essential”
Önder also noted that FEAS graduates are needed in various other fields such as human resources, sales, and marketing, adding that students can shape their careers according to their interests and abilities. Providing insights into professions requiring specialized expertise, he said:
“You can become an independent accountant, certified public accountant, or sworn-in certified public accountant. In addition, sustainability auditing has recently become an important area of work.”
Highlighting the importance of having a clear career goal, Önder remarked:
“If you do not decide which field you want to pursue after graduation, you cannot make progress. Just as a ship without a course cannot reach its destination, you also cannot achieve success without determining your direction.”
The event concluded with a Q&A session, followed by Dean Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş presenting a plaque to Dr. Rıdvan Önder in appreciation of his contributions.
